Five Years to Fifty
Connecting People to Preservation since 1978
For over four decades, the Land Trust has worked to protect and conserve wildlife habitat, agricultural lands, watersheds, open space, and outdoor recreation land in Santa Cruz County and beyond.
Our work over the next five years will focus on protecting wildlife habitat from destruction and increasing the resilience of our ecosystems and wildlife populations to these stresses.
We will also continue to protect working lands—farms, ranches, and working forests— from being developed. We will collaborate with working lands operators and other partners to protect properties and model sustainability.
We want to connect more people to nature, and we need to ensure all residents of Santa Cruz County benefit—especially communities that have historically had limited access.
Finally, we need to ensure these protected lands are stewarded forever. We will seek to build champions among elected leaders and establish an ongoing source of funding for stewardship and access on conservation lands in Santa Cruz County.
