Thanks to our partner, Save the Redwoods League, for connecting us to Peter Smithey who helped us build a beautiful new kiosk at San Vicente Redwoods. All of the lumber was harvested during fuel reduction work on the property. The Douglas Fir used to make the sign was milled three years after the 2020 CZU Fire swept across the landscape.

Between the wildfire and the milling, bugs began breaking down the material below the bark, adding character to the lumber. Check closely for burrows and other signs of insect life on the sign.
